Blaise barely held in the urge to snigger as Draco reached for the gift from him. Theo, slouched next to Blaise on the couch at Malfoy Manor (where the three families always celebrated Yule), elbowed him in the ribs and hissed, "What did you do?"

Blaise scooted out of Theo's range and grinned, shaking his head, clearly saying that Theo didn't want to know. He also didn't want Theo too close when Draco opened the gift, just in case hexes were thrown. His own mother had given him a copy yesterday, with instructions not to go about using the knowledge just yet. It had given Blaise the idea of giving Draco a copy.

Maybe, just maybe Draco would get an inkling that Blaise was interested in more than just being best mates. If the gift didn't work, he would have to corner the blond and snog him senseless- a valid course of action but one that carried an almost certain risk of painful hexes. Draco didn't like to be surprised and this was one thing that Blaise felt certain would surprise him. He seemed to have no idea that Blaise wasn't joking with all the innuendo, at least not for the past few months.

What had started as an easy way to tease Draco had become, over time, the start of real feelings. He hadn't realised just what was going on until he saw Draco putting salve on his ribs, which had been heavily bruised during Moody's 'punishment' last term. There had been indignation for Draco, and for the Founding Families. Never before had anyone gone after a member of the three families with such malice in such a public way. The anger and nearly murderous rage that replaced his indignation was his first clue that he was falling fast and hard for Draco.

With a small sigh, he ran his hand over the gift he hadn't let loose of since Draco had handed it to him. Ancient scrolls, which Draco had bound in book form, telling the true tales of Merlin and Arthur. He couldn't help but hope that Draco was giving him a hint of his own. Every Pureblood knew the stories, tales handed down from the original bards tales, but never before had Blaise seen actual scrolls from that time period.

"Blaise?"

Looking up, Blaise blushed lightly. He should have known that Draco would catch him being inattentive. But, really, who could blame him? In their original form, the tales of Arthur and Merlin were a cautionary tale of what both men had been capable of when their relationship was questioned. He wanted nothing more, at the moment, than curl up in front of the fire and read. Well, after seeing Draco's reaction to his gift of course. "Sorry, go on then, Draco, open your gift."

Draco rolled his eyes. "I was waiting for the gift givers attention, you prat."

"You two, stop," Theo said angrily. His snarling words were laced with amusement which rendered the threat of hexing nearly null and void. "Do you want our parents to come in here and give us the speech on 'proper behaviour' today of all days?"

No," he and Draco both mumbled. Yule was one of the few days that their parents left them completely alone, something only their fellow Purebloods would understand the importance of. Even at Hogwarts, there were daily letters instructing them how to behave, who to associate with, and so on. It was a part of their 'training' but tiring none-the-less.

"Go on, open your gift so we can go flying," Theo said with a sneaky little smile. "B and I may not be on the house team, but I think we can take you. Besides, you know you want to try out that new racing broom."

With a rare grin, Draco ripped off the paper and opened the box. His jaw dropped when he realised that he now owned the complete collection of the Kama Sutra. The first section even the Muggles knew about, but the second, third, and fourth sections were considered scandalous even by most of the Wizarding World as well.

"Blaise!" Theo exclaimed, "you didn't!"

Blaise carefully set aside his gift and then got to his feet quickly, fully prepared to run like hell if need be. "Yes, yes, I did."

Draco flipped through section two, his mind spinning furiously through the possible reasons why Blaise would give this to him. He quickly decided that it was past time to take a chance, setting aside the gift and getting to his feet. Frowning over-dramatically, he said, "You will pay for this, B."

Blaise, laughing nervously, spun around and ran for the door, cussing mentally that he was barefoot. He slid through the open doorway and turned right, away from the parlour their parents were located. He heard Theo, laughing loudly, call out, "You'll never catch him!"

"The hell I won't!" was Draco's reply.

Blaise raced up the side staircase, hoping to make it to the south wing, which was a maze of rooms they used to play 'catch me if you can' in when they were much younger. Of course, he and Draco were playing the same sort of game now, just not with such childish notions.

He made it halfway down the main corridor of the south wing before Draco caught him, swinging him around and slamming his back against the wall. Brows shooting up, Blaise smirked. "Yes? Did you need something?"

Draco leaned in, his arms on either side of Blaise's head, pinning him between Draco's body and the wall. "That depends."

"On?" Blaise said faintly, his heart pounding, anticipating just what Draco would do.

"Just why you gave me that particular...handbook."

"Take a guess," Blaise replied huskily, moving forward, pressing himself against Draco, their mouths nearly touching.

"This?" Draco murmured, covering Blaise's mouth with his own.

Blaise's reply was to fist his hands in Draco's jumper, keeping him as close as possible without crawling inside one another.
