i got 2 comments from jose vanders today, in my jose posts at hipteapots, & she kind of (not really, but she "sounded" sad/whatever about it) asked me to take down her songs. well, she really kinda just made me feel a bit bad (she doesn't know whether to feel happy or sad about it - happy that someone wants to tell people about her & people actually want to ( Read more... )

Aww, honey, I'm in a hurry, but I only wanted to say that I don't think Jose could be mad at you or something. You really spread the love for her. I adore her thanks to you (and thanks to her amazing voice, obviously) and the only reason why I downloaded her songs is because her EP was no longer available. As soon as she realeases it again, OF COURSE I'M GOING TO BUY IT. And I wanted her t-shirts too, but the good sizes are already sold out, which is great, BUT I WANT A T-SHIRT OF JOSE!

So, don't worry hun. You love Jose, and you made us know her and love her too. You didn't steal anything, you wanted to make us know her, so we would buy her music, and that's what we're going to do. You just wanted us to feel the same happiness you feel when you listen to her music. You had the best intentions, and I know she knows that, she said she's grateful, and I know she really means it. So, please don't be sad about all this.

I ordered her EP today (actually I pre-ordered it, because it's not available yet), and you know, I'm gonna pay more for the shipping than for the EP itself. 7£ for the EP and 7'20£ for the shipping, silly. Not that I really care, I'm happy that I'm gonna finally have it so, everything is good! *hugs*

PS: I think I'm gonna make some Jose icons...

Yeah, that's why I put it up, so that people could hear her music & wanna buy it, but actually hearing from the person directly is a bit weird, y'know?

As a musician in an independent band, we've spent a lot of time doing the math. Honestly? Download the album and if you like it, send the artist 5 bucks. Sending the word out about music you like creates interest and opens the music up to tons of people who may never have heard about it. So try not to beat yourself up too badly, you were actually doing more help than harm!
