LJ has violated software development best practices in an incredibly stupid way. They made a change to how logins work, that they knew would break certain browser plugins that are used extensively by many people (myself included), and didn't tell anyone. And they made this change on production code without incorporating it into a release, which means they've completely missed the point of having discrete releases in the first place, and likely indicates that they're trying out their ideas on their public-facing servers (meaning, they're not trying them in a test environment first).
Meanwhile, some people are having trouble staying logged in. Oh, and have you heard? There's a major privacy issue going on with LJ now (which they have yet to acknowledge AFAIK), where people are apparently finding themselves randomly logged in as other people, giving them the ability to post as them, read their private entries, and so on. Hmm, major problems with logins, right after they make a change to how logins work...
Someone's just posted the logging-in issue on eLJay's Facebook page, and the response was that the Customer Service Team is attending to it immediately. Hmm.
