Old Baggage
I'm leaving you behind now
old self
I've thought of bringing you along
on this long journey
the weight of your prejudices
is too heavy for me to carry
as are your concerns and fears
but fret not old thing
I will cherish the memory of you
and your work of doubt
will undoubtedly
be taken up in force by
people in their casual cruelty
mentioned in by-the-ways
You are young, old me
But I am not.
No longer.
I don't wish I could have brought you
I don't wish that you are here
I have a beautiful blue horizon
As a traveller with nothing in my pockets
fearing nothing
There be monsters
There be dragons
I will face them with a grin on my face
I shall be the one they fear.
