I'm having a composition class, which requires writing an article on comparison and contrast. So almost immediately I thought of Harry Potter and The Lord of the Rings.
But then, as our teacher said, we need a purpose for this writing, so again, I thought of this following reason: despite of the fact that these two are constantly perceived by the general public as two similar works developed from the same magic element, the two actually differ greatly in many ways. (I'm actually planning on making this as my thesis.)
And the problem comes. In what aspects exactly do these two differ? What are the examples showing these differences? Basically I'm taking the books as the basis of my comparsion instead of movies, but filmes are fine too. =)
Or do you think I should work in the reverse way; i.e., though different, the two actually are very similar?
....I'm at a complete lost at the moment.....
Somebody plz HELP!! >"<
