quasi rant
So.. new job. I am so far not very fond of new job. I guess I got spoiled and whatnot at the last hotel job I worked that I am just not adjusting well at all to the daylight shift. It doesn't help at all that I know I could get paid more working nights and on top of that it seems the management is of the kind to be completely anal about hours and whatnot so they don't have to pay more money out. I'm probably going to get in trouble for staying late tonight (not that I wanted to, but what was I supposed to do? Everyone else had ditched and the lone night audit can't check in guests, answer phones, AND deliver stuff to rooms all at the same time). So, got home super late, have been on my feet for almost nine hours and am looking forward to a bitch session with the manager. yay.
Good news, discovered that the people I do work with are all pretty fantastic awesome. I'm always kind of nervous and awkward around new people so figured that the first few shifts with everyone would basically blow but instead spent the day happily introducing one girl to ravelry and helping the other trying to figure out how to blog. It was a very pleasant surprise. The guys I worked with yesterday also were fun, we basically just joked and goofed around the entire time :) So far, it's only been one person i don't really care to work with and she's still not that bad, just seems hypocritical and slightly annoying. Not looking forward to a shift with just her and the manager but maybe I'll be surprised again :D
Austin update : Am liking it very much :) Not love yet, but is devoloping into that direction. I love discovering random little spots around town, adventuring is truly fun. Still not great with the driving around but then, I always have sucked at driving so hopefully I'll get more used to it and it will get better. Finally have a job so finally can let myself go gawk at a local yarn store. Am very very excitied :D Really need to finish unpacking and painting. I think things will be much easier with boy in time full-time which hopefully will happen sooner than later.
