Cuddle Bug
McRaider
Summary: Sometimes all we need is a cuddle.
Author’s Note: I was in band, I was missing my girlfriend and I thought about this. Now mind you it’s Jack and Johnny, but still! This is utter fluffy plotless fluff that hopefully will make you smile a little. I'll post the next part of Regroup tomorrow but it's smut so I wanted to wait until Smut Sunday for it :)
Rated: 100% G people!

Johnny Scot Harkness-Jones hated colds, he hated feeling sick, even at the age of seven, he hated feeling sick. And today was no different. The cold had started earlier in the week and he’d been hiding it, the school play was only right around the corner and he didn’t want to miss it-as he had the lead role. His throat was scratchy, his body ached and his head hurt.
Normally, the boys went to the childminder with their little sister after school, but she’d been the one who gave him the cold in the first place, so Aeryn was spending the afternoons with her Auntie Carys, leaving troubling trio (as their fathers had started calling them), to stay at the hub for a few hours until their dads could take them home.
Johnny, unusually quiet for the walk to the hub, stepped onto the invisible lift, closing his eyes and moving a little closer to his sister. Rosie had noticed John’s quiet display lately, so she easily reached out and slid her arm around his neck and shoulders, steadying him on the lift-he’d hated heights for most of his young life, but the invisible lift was always the worst for him.
As an infant and toddler, John had always been closer to his Tad, looking for a cuddle whenever he cried-which was always for him. But as he grew older he sought out his Dad for more comfort. Today was no different. As soon as they stepped off the lift, John made his way past the other team members and into his dad’s office. His brother and sister, however, went directly towards their usual spots, with Tosh and Martha.
Jack was sitting in his office, working on some of his usual paperwork when he spotted something walking through his door. “Hey JJ,” he greeted softly as he glanced back down at his papers, “what’s up, kiddo?”
John didn’t answer, but he made his way from the door way to Jack’s side. Jack must have read his thoughts, because he moved his arms, allowing Johnny to pull himself up into Jack’s arms. Jack chuckled as he leaned back in his chair and pulled his son further up on his lap. He pressed his lips to the top of John’s head, noting the heat radiating from the little boy. “What’s wrong baby?” He asked again, gently rocking the child.
“Tired.” John mumbled as he curled further into Jack’s arms and closed his eyes.
Jack chuckled softly, pressing another quick kiss to his son’s head he proceeded on with his paperwork for several more minutes. He glanced back down at the seven year old again and felt his heart flutter, fast asleep, John looked just like his Tad, and looked so much younger than seven years. It was hard to believe his children were growing up so quickly. Jack, like all parents, had an instinct for knowing when one of their children was ill, and this was no different. He’d been watching John for the past week, making sure his cold didn’t turn into anything worse, but knowing if it did they’d be prepared. Jack hated seeing his children sick or suffering, however he had to admit occasionally there were upsides-cuddling was one of them. Jack hadn’t realized how much he missed cuddling with his kids.
“Someone needed a hug,” the soft voice alerted Jack to Ianto’s presence. Jack glanced up and smirked at his partner of ten years.
            “I think he’s getting a cold.”
Ianto smirked and stepped forward, pressing a gentle kiss to Jack’s lips he pulled away, “I wasn’t referring to our son. Why don’t I make you some coffee and him some tea?”
“That’d be great. Should we have Martha check him out?”
“Nah, I’ve been watching him as well. It’s just a cold; I think he’s almost over it. He’s got his play on Saturday-which I’m sure is why he’s been quiet about it until today.” Ianto slipped out of the office again, smirking at the thought of his sweet little boy curled up in his daddy’s arms.
Ianto was happy to think that Aeryn was their last, but on the other hand, he’d willingly be with Jack through another pregnancy, hold him through all the rough times if it meant another baby. Ianto did miss having a baby around. It seemed stupid, but Aeryn was already two, and Ianto wished he could keep them babies forever, or so small. Rosie, now nine, was already pulling away and trying to be a big girl, not wanting her fathers help as much as she used to. He didn’t want to consider the day when the twins no longer came to talk to their dad or tad.
Once he’d made the tea and coffee, he headed back into Jack’s office and stopped at the sight. They’d changed slightly. John was now curled around his father’s body, head resting on his shoulders, arms around his neck. Jack was leaning back in his chair singing quietly, rubbing the boy’s back. Ianto took the moment to listen to Jack’s smooth voice, getting lost in the beautiful words of a lullaby Jack’s mother had sung to him in his own time.
Jack glanced up and smiled at his lover. Sometimes, all anyone needed was a hug and a cuddle. Ianto watched as their little boy cuddled a little closer, no doubt feeling a little better already as his dad rocked him to sleep. Ianto stepped over to the duo and pressed a kiss to the back of John’s head and smiled. John had the right attitude, cuddling with Jack was by far the best feeling in the world.
