Summary: They were all so angry at Jack, that none of them took the time to notice the subtle differences in his personality, how he reacted to things, and most of all how he couldn’t seem to look at any of them for longer than a few seconds without looking away.

That was not Gwen bashing. That was what should have happened although, as leader, it should have been Jack who did it. She does need to grow up and, if she's ever going to respect Jack and get over her childish vision of him, he needs to step up and be the leader. He lets her get away with waaaayyyy too much. Good for Ianto. Perfect chapter.

I tend to agree with you. Gwen frustrates me becuase she seems to only care what others think who are outside Torchwood (which is good it's important that someone care about everyone else) but what about the people she works with) Thank you!

*pumps fist* YES! about damned time that Ianto let Gwen have with both barrels - do love the protective, supportive Ianto - do love that Jack loves him enough to accept the support and love from him in return

"Adrift" is one of those episodes that for me is a flash point - if I hadn't already detested Gwen Bloody Cooper-Williams to within an inch of her life - that episode did it for me - I wanted to slap her upside the head so hard that she'd been waking up next month when I saw that episode - the pain, the burdens that Jack carries are only enhanced by her obtuse behaviour - thank god for Ianto
