Not a bad idea. It usually works out pretty well for me.

1) Find pictures of people's haircuts that you like.
2) Bring them along with you to the stylist.
3) Let the stylist tell you which are good/bad for your hair type.
4) Don't stress: hair grows.

As far as style: I think you'd look boss with slightly darker hair, cut in a little bit softer version of a Joan-Jett rocker cut.

Hey, last time I got a haircut in Boston, it was with Wendy when she was at Liquid!

She just moved out of Liquid recently to the new salon. I trust her implicitly with my hair - plus, she's the most fun hairdresser EVER.

Thing about the pictures, though, is that I never know what will look good for my face/body. I suppose that's where the stylist's opinion comes in.

I could imagine the Joan Jett-y kind of thing, though. That would be fun.

The third one looks nice, but high-maintenance.

I'd vote for color, too, just on principle. :) Dark dark red, maybe?

I was about to say that. I totally think you could pull off bangs, especially of the longer, messier type.
