I am alive. for the first time.

I was told tht intelligent people learn from other people's mistakes, normal from their own and stupid people never learn. It is of no importance to mention which group I am in, but I thought to tell some stuff to the possible representatives of the intelligent minority, who might get lost in this blog. So this is a possibility to act out if someone wants to change their boring, too intelligent lives, but might lead to crying relatives wearing black in the graveyard.

I just came back from Wyborg (Russia) today. Last night we were eating in a lame tourist restaurant with as expensive beer as in Finland and as I dislike this kind of multinationals I wanted to take a walk back to our hotel, where again there was only Finns, naturally (this was at midnight). As we were 6 people and had only one map I just took my cousin with me and started wondering in the city to the direction of the hotel. Of course we did not check the map and took the wrong road (there were no names of the roads).

2 girlchildren with no map, no skills in Russian language (not even the alphabets), no money whatsoever, an expensive camera and worn-out clothes to act as a local found themselves in the suburbs (read "slums") of Wyborg.

It hits quite hard to realize the difference in standard of living between these 2 neigbouring countries. Street dogs, narrow roads, people standing in the corners, people fighting with knives, drunk youth, old guys coming and making suggestions of which I have no idea (just reply "njet, spachiba"...they actually thought I was russian), cars stopping to take girls in or exchange substances...

We were lost for 2 hours in the middle of a place where no one spoke same language with us. After that I was brave enough to ask for direction from a bar, but the bartenders didnt know and asked everyone to come and explain...fast speech in russian, laughter, and curious looks made me a bit uncomfortable. A guy stepped forward and told that we're around 6 km away and showed the direction. And there we went again. Being sure of being followed by them we walked on the dark narrow streets and spoke quietly imitating the russian sound of s in our speech. Finally we did find the hotel.

I want to marry a russian and get a farm from close to wyborg and have a home for street dogs. I know that there is one in Tallin and loads of Finns get their dogs from there. As long as it is the same forest I can totally have my farm where ever.
