i started my lab rotation today. i'm going to be working on profiling humoral response to prostate cancer. i wanted to do some experimental wetlab work just to get some experience. i'm in a really cool lab (like it's so totally rad dude) and i'll be working with some cutting edge techniques and machines. of course, i 've never been in a real lab before so i have no clue what the hell i'm doing. i did a protein microarray assay today and it was pretty disappointing -- and this was with a postdoc overseeing me and doing some of the steps himself. i'll be repeating it again tomorrow and hopefully get better results.
i'm realizing that there's a lot of stuff in biology and i'm afraid that as i spend time learning all this, i'll spend less time on being a computer geek. i've already spent much less time reading slashdot this week :) i desperately need to get internet access at home so my grades can suffer i can remain a good geek. i need my daily internet fix!!
