So, for the first time this season, I've had the fun of doing a little bit of sliding in my truck. Too bad it was in the middle of the street and I actually had some slight problems getting out of the dip in the street. *small sigh
( Read more... )
I left late enough that the bit of surface road near me was reasonable but it was a bit more of a challenge than I expected going up '395. Chalk that up to driving towards the snow since it got harder the farther into MA that I went. Still, the 'Noir done good and, excluding one old-man-in-a-hat, traffic was trudging along at ten-or-so under the limit with only a little slipping.
It's been long enough that I've had any real experience with sliding that I want to find a biggish lot to practice in to refresh the muscle memory.
I'm a bit surprised that 395 was an issue... that's not usually the case. *hrmm*
I can understand the need/want for a big lot to practice in. The past few winters, I've had the opportunity to have a large lot to "play around" in during the first snowfall. Unfortunately, timing just hasn't been on my side this year.. *shrugs*
Slightly off-topic.... We're putting on a Masonic Youth Child ID Program (http://www.mychip.org) at Arisia and we need someone who can do dental imprints. Our dentist canceled but we were told EMT's and paramedic could also take dental impressions. I was wondering if you'll be there this weekend and if this is something you would be able to do or if you know someone else who will be at Arisia that might (it will equal a comp'ed membership)? Thanks!
I will be there this weekend, working both Security and Medical.
As far as being able to help you with this, I would love to... BUT, I do not have the knowledge or skills to do dental imprints. In all of my training, this is not something that is covered. I would like to know who told you that EMTs and Paramedics would be able to do dental imprints, as this is not something that would ever come into our scope of practice.
Understandable. I'm not sure where it came from that EMT and Paramedics could do dental imprints, it may have been original said as 'EMTs and Paramedics may be able if they had the training' and the wording changed. I'll make sure the person who stated that is informed that EMTs and Paramedics aren't likely to be trained to do dental imprints.

I always drive carefully... Although, I will say that heading sideways up the street was interesting. *small smirk*

Well, either way... just drive safely.
