Do you wear pantyhose? (I don't, but Mom does big time!)
One of the things we did with some was make a rug (or mat). It keeps one safely from tripping over a wire that goes across the hall.
Another thing Mom does is cut off the 'feet' of a pantyhose >> lo & behold, fancy leggins! (Even if they are torn, quite useful to wear under pants) I prefer cotton leggins, but some pants or some occasions don't look pretty if worn with these..
Mom also wraps Easter eggs into bits of pantyhose, together with local flora & fauna, & boils them in onion-peels-filled water. (Gosh, that must be healthy!) I've been lobbying against that for 2 years, but I'll have to take the Easter egg thing into my hands & try it the Naturalliving way!
I still don't like pantyhose (as long as they're not biodegradable or something!) - they're definitely not 'Zero Waste', but at least this gives you some ideas what to do with them before throwing out!
http://www.aboutmyplanet.com - Interesting site to check out. No idea if (& how) you can post comments if you're not a member, though!)
It does look a bit impersonal, but then again, it tells you how solar panels are made of, & such!
I really like their
Daily Green Tips in general! About hosting a green New Year's party, etc!
(No, it doesn't include strangling innocent guests with pantyhose!!
- Although maybe I should e-mail them the idea?;)
