On Friday, Kristi and I were in downtown Columbus, and we decided to take a look inside the Columbus City Center mall, just for kicks.
I have one word to say:
Depressing.
There's somewhere like 10 stores left or something. A shame though, it's a nice looking mall. Kristi thinks it would be a good place for certain cosplay photoshoots (*cough*Macross*cough*), if it's still open when Ohayocon comes around again. Though, I hear the development gears are working, so the days of this mall in its current state are probably numbered.
Former Marshall Field's/Kaufmann's/half-assed Macy's mall entrance. Closed 6 months ago.
Amazingly, the entirety of the mallway, sans the skybridge to the former Lazarus store (the bridge is
going to be torn down sometime this year), was completely open.

Towards the (closed off) skybridge to Lazarus.
Waldenbooks had a surprisingly decent manga selection.
High Street entrance, under the skywalk. Former Lazarus department store across the street.
Overall, the mall is well-maintained, despite the mass exodus of retail. Everything's clean, well-lit, all the escalators are running, and it almost looks new, except for the, you know, actual lack of commerce. I've got more pics
over here.In other news, the Lennox AMC is showing the first Bleach movie, Memories of Nobody, on June 11th and 12th. Who wants to go see it on the 12th?
It's $11 per ticket, though (ouch!). Still, any takers?
