Well that could have gone better...
Well, Last night I tried to call my Host Family; of course, it didn't go the way I imagined it. I called at around 10:30 pm, which is about 12:30 pm the next day in Japan. I imagined it going something like this:
お母さん: もしもし。
私: もしもし、アーシリです。お母さんよこですか。
Then we'd converse in English.
Trans:
Mom: Hello?
Me: Hello? This is Ashley. Is this Momma Yoko?
But NOOO... They had to not be home! I had to leave a message on their answering machine; and I just know I sounded like an idiot. I said "Ummm..." every 5 seconds or so and I forgot all of my Japanese. The first words they ever heard out of my mouth were, "もしもし、アーシリ... uhh です。
But I got an email from them this morning, so it's all good. ^_^
