i forgot to mention (how could i have forgotten this ?) that my brother, his girlfriend and some of his church friends had a spiritual intervention on me last week in an extremely crowded denny's in redwood city. as my sampler platter minus chicken strips came, my brother read a prepared speech/prayer begging the heavenly father to "continue to reveal himself to me". i was, honestly, pretty offended but i humored him. (he set me up ! i thought i was going to be eating dinner with him alone, then the whole damn chuch showed up) he's worried that i'm going to die with mortal sin on my soul. for someone who was raised catholic, same as i was, he seems to have either completely forgetten or disregarded catholicism as a valid religion whatsoever; i.e. i was baptized, had my first communion, AND was confirmed - no original sin on this soul even if i WAS conceived out of wedlock.
anyways, i appreciate his concern over my health and the sentiment and stuff, but really, why did he need to bring two carfuls of people i've never met before ?? and is a crowded denny's an appropriate place for an intervention ? discuss.
