How dare you use cheese as a slur?

When I was little my sisters played in the youth symphony. I had to go to so many concerts. At first Wendy would play. Third chair, I believe. The violin, same as my other sister, Megan. Megan and I would laugh so hard. Were we belittling Wendy? No, we just loved her. The whole thing was so dramatic, such sorrow, everyone sitting in the dark and clapping when the songs ended. Even mom had to keep from laughing.

Later it was Megan and Wendy. Then I was alone and lonely, and when the songs played I imagined Dracula and Kings and Generals. And big castles with draw bridges and moats and who knows what else. The schedules were the worst.

It almost seems I was forced to play the violin myself. But I refused to play under such conditions. We had an Ode to Joy recital and I just sat there kind of quivering the bow on the strings I suppose. Perhaps it looked like I was playing, though I kind of doubt it.

Wendy was in plays for a while. They all came down the isles for the children once. It was wonderful and everyone was happy. I saw "Hello Dolly" starring this girl everyone thought was wonderful and was. But that was long ago, in a galaxy far, far away.

And really, do galaxies travel? Well of course they do, but if they all moved at once AND moved towards each other and away, then perhaps I once was in a galaxy far, far away.
