Today's topic...Love. This is coming out of 1stCorinthians if you want to follow.
We've all heard those famous verses of 1stCorinthians "Love is patient, love is kind..."
But how many of you actually sit there and pay no mind to it thinking it's "just another verse?" Yeah, well...I found out that it's not. It's more of guidelines that we should base our relationships on. Not just with your "boyfriend" or "girlfriend", but with your friends and family. Unfortunately, the world doesn't see it the way God does.
According to
Webster's Dictionary, Love is defined as attraction based on sexual desire. Is that REALLY what God meant for love to mean? Think about it.
The world has distorted the true definition of what love really means. They just don't leave it at that...but they advertise it, show it in movies, sell it on the Internet and in magazines. I wouldn't be surprised if the most quickest paying job is to be a porn star or director. See, those people don't know about this book that I'm reading. Either that or they don't want to know about it. But sooner or later they will have the choice to accept the truth or deny it.
To me, love is like a math term that is "undefined" like the word "space." Can you define "space?" Or how about "point?" Having trouble? Thought so. Now you get my point. Love is an "undefined term."
But true definition lies within the thirteenth chapter of 1stCorinthians and it reads as follows:
"4Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. 6Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
8Love never fails..."
Now that...
That my friend...is lovely.
P.S. - And to all of you who I haven't said "I love you" to...just know this...I truly do.
