Darryl and Weiner finally catch up with William this week:
http://www.williambazillion.com And now that it's been officially solicited, I can reveal that once again, Shaenon and I have written a story for this year's
Marvel Holiday Special. It's a Spider-Man/Wolverine story in the tradition of Marvel Team-Up, and we had an absolute blast writing it. Lou Kang is the artist, and from what I've seen of his work so far, this is going to be FUN with a capital F-U-N.
I've been a Spider-Man fan pretty much my entire life, so it took me about a half-a-second to say "yes" when Marvel editor John Barber asked me and Shaenon if we wanted to write a Spider-Man story for this year's Marvel Holiday Special. I think we did a pretty good job with him (and Wolverine), and I hope all of you check it out when it hits comic shops on December 5.
For those of you who have a local comic shop, please pay them a visit within the next few weeks and place a pre-order on it. For those of you who don't, you can call 1-800-COMIC-BOOK to find a shop near you, then place a pre-order once you find your local shop.
Left to their own devices, comic shop owners will order about one copy of the Holiday Special for every ten copies of X-Men, *but* if they know there's demand for it, and if sales and feedback are good on this book, there's a slightly better chance of us getting to write more Marvel comics in the future. I'm going to order 10-20 copies from
Al's Comics here in the Mission District, and if I can just convince another 100,000 of you to do the same...
Anyway, here's the cover, drawn by Frazer Irving:
