In Death, the High Cost of Living (DTHCOL) the last few pages in that comic are basic instructions (with humor) on how to safely use and dispose of a condom. Also some info on HIV and AIDS, too.

Hidden in plain sight, as it were.

Check it out- your public library probably has it, if you can't buy it yourself.

Oh yeah, I've seen that! :) I heard that "Ninja High School" did the same thing in the '90s as well... "Ninja High School Talks About Safe Sex," I believe...! But nothing made in Japan for the shonen junior-high demographic yet, darnit.

Osamu Tezuka did Merumo, which is more of a general sex ed manga--the main character is a young girl who can age or grow younger by ingesting magical candy inherited from her mother. It was also a very short-lived anime series, cut short because it tended to freak the stodgy old folks out.
