As promised, I've gone all George Lucas and revised page 43 to make it represent my true vision of that scene, utilizing technology that was beyond my grasp at 2am last night.
To make up for all the trouble and to justify another post here on LiveJournal, I'm posting a photo from this past weekend's
Super-Con in San Jose. This is me and David Harris, better known to all as Cochise, from the most critically acclaimed film of all time, The Warriors.
And while I'm posting any old thing that pops into my head right now, I'll go ahead now and predict that the Cleveland Cavaliers will either win the NBA finals in seven games or lose it in five games.
I'm 31 years old, and no Cleveland team has managed to win a championship in any of the three major sporting leagues (baseball, football, basketball) in my lifetime. The Indians came within an out of winning the World Series in 1997 before the most jaw-droppingly un-clutch performance in Jose Mesa's entire career; the phrases "The Drive" and "The Fumble" pretty much sum up the agony of being a Browns fan; and Michael Jordan didn't reach superstar status until that last second turn-around jump shot (aka "The Shot") against Marc Price's Cavs back in 1989.
While I'm reasonably certain that Cleveland winning a championship in anything will result in the sky turning blood red, frogs raining from the sky and the earth opening up and swallowing us all, that's a risk I'm willing to take.
Go LeBron.
