It was. Hillwalking is one of those things I actively enjoy. Not just for the view, but it is a big part of it.

It was rather nice. And my legs feel fine today.

I could not walk 12 miles. I can do like 5 miles.

Teach me your nerd fitness ways. For example, did you all stop for lunch?

Go for lots of 5 mile walks. Where possible walk home from work (or wherever is walkable where you are).

We didn't stop for lunch, but I was carrying some food with me, and we did stop for about ten minutes on top of Pen y Fan.

Right on. So, basically, your l33t nerd advice is the same as everyone else's. lol

Cheers and thank you. I'll let you know how I progress.

Oh yes. I don't have any magic alternative to exercise, sadly.

Such a dramatic looking area. Isn't that where those four SAS trainees died of heat exhaustion a few years ago?

Yup. Exactly the same place:

If it was 5 degrees warmer, they were carrying heavy packs, and they hadn't brought water with then I'm not surprised, sadly.

I wish we had pretty geographical places like that here! (But I live in central Texas, which is more of a geographical pit than anything else. The only good thing about it is that a tornado has to spawn here to do any real damage, as we are somewhat protected since tornadoes can not "skip ground".)

Yeah, I've flown over Texas and it was lots of yellow/brown with occasional green circles.

Plenty of gorgeous places elsewhere in the US, of course.
