I'm on holiday. Of _course_ I'm sick

Nov 01, 2015 20:28

Friday was my last day at work for two weeks. I'm not planning to do anything exciting - just using up holidays before Year End (December 15th). But we had a good Friday evening in the pub playing board games with Erin/Alex, and a bunch of other friends (and Beltane people who were getting a night off before Samhain). And then went to Dundee to spend Halloween in Witch House with Morag and Erin and a bunch of other awesome people.

Shockingly, the train there had a pirate on it:

The view from the train over The Tay at sunset was beautiful:

This is _clearly_ the costume you go for if you're pregnant:

And this was the amazing costume that Morag had spent the last two months working on for Erin, to the point where she completely ran out of time to make one for herself (thankfully she had some fab costume bits just lying around):

You can't see the intricate work on the "prosthetic" there, but it was incredibly impressive.

We got a lift back afterwards with Gregor, Morven, and Sarah, with whom we sang awful songs deliberately badly, had fascinating conversastion, and dropped Sarah off by the banks of the Forth, from where there was a fantastic view of both Edinburgh and the sky, none of which my phone is capable of capturing.

And then I slept for ten hours, and woke up feeling as weak as a kitten. Julie felt likewise, but as I had only one drink last night to her several vodkas, I think she has a much better excuse. After several hours of feeling shivery and feeling like my hands and feet are simultaneously hot and cold, and constantly vibrating, I finally realised that I'm...sick. Yay! So have spent the day watching the Minions movie with Julie, catching up with some of the internet, and staring blankly into space. I'm feeling a bit better than this morning now, and so I'm hoping that by tomorrow I'll be fully mobile again. I'd better be. I don't want to waste my time off!
