She "admitted" she was a militant vegan. Do you actually provide any argument that that's a bad thing, or did she simply SAY that, and you IMPLIED it was bad?
Yes, in general, having industries be "strong" is a good thing, but if someone is arguing that there are unneeded subsidies that prop up an industry that's a DRAIN on the economy, saying "but the industry needs to be strong" isn't really an argument. Does EVERY CONCEIVABLE industry need to be strong? Is it a travesty that we don't pour millions of subsidies into underwater basket weaving? Or, maybe, is that you think she's WRONG about farming -- if so, maybe you could explain WHY and not just say "new cabinet MP says blah and she's wrong" without any citation or argument?
"But her views were dismissed as "verging on the cranky" by the Countryside Alliance," "But". Why "but"? Do you think that "being dismissed as cranky" somehow stands in opposition to her views? That is, the countryside alliance would only denounce them if they're actually wrong? As opposed to denouncing any criticism of farming whether its right or not? That sounds unlikely to me -- does the "Independent" provide anything to back it up?
