I picked up my new glasses yesterday and my left eye prescription is now less strong than before. The optician warned me I would find moving my head strange for the first day or so until my brain catches up with the balance. She's right - looking straight on is fine and sharp, but moving between is distinctly odd.

I always feel odd for a couple of days when I get new glasses. The floor seems to change distance on a regular basis!

I agree, getting a new prescription of glasses can throw off my balance for a bit. I am hoping that my doctor is correct in saying that now I am past 30 my eyes are done changing (until I start needing reading glasses).

Well, this is my right eye improving at 42, so I wouldn't bet too much!

(Been mostly stable for the last ten years though.)

And, perhaps as a cheerful prospect, when you get to be around 60 your lenses probably will start to cloud with cataracts. (First sign/stage: color perception dims, usually more strongly in one eye than the other.) I had the worst-eye lens replaced first, and before the surgeon un-blinkered me (3 days later) he had written up an appointment for doing the other, because... in 90+% of the cases, the patient will want the other eye done as soon as possible.
