I think the first Kieron Gillen comic I read was his work on Thor, which was great*. I then picked up his indie book "Phonogram", which I enjoyed, even if it felt a bit basic - reminding me of early works by comics writers I liked in the 90s. I was intrigued to pick up the first trade of his new book, which had been getting quite a lot of buzz

2. I liked it TW&TD but it didn't fill me with love and strong feels, and I don't think it's age because I really did like Journey Into Mystery and felt it had an emotional whack. I'll read more but it's staying on my get it in trades later list, not on my very short list of things I'll buy as single issues.

The last thing I bought in issue format was Lucifer. I _was_ buying the individual issues for Sandman: Overture, but that seems to have fallen into a big hole recently.

Third issue things get a bit odd and walls of text start appearing.
Forth issue everything slows the heck down as Major Exposition turns up.
Fifth issue is Statement Issue that points to which direction it'll be taking.
On the one hand, I think this is the best thing Gillen and McKelvie have done since Phonogram. On the other hand, there's still massive scope for getting it awfully wrong and having it fizzle out to nothing. But at this point? Benefit of doubt.
