Streaming music is not the problem.
There's a lot of discussion out there about compensating artists, and how poorly Spotify, Pandora, etc. pay.
The most recent one came from Bette Midler, who said that 4million plays got her $114. Which, I think people would agree, is a pittance.
Except, of course, that that's not the amount that Pandora paid out. They paid out $6,400. Of which Bette Midler then received $114.
I'd say the problem here wasn't Pandora, it was whoever took the other 98% of the cash before it reached her...
