I know it's unlikely, seeing as this monitor dates from 2002, but if anyone is still sitting with an even ancienter CRT, or knows of somewhere that could do with it, then shout. I'll give it a few days before I dispose of it

15 inch LCDs with VGA in are fantastically useful in data centres where they're easy to move around. Otherwise stick a PI on the back of it and turn it into a media centre. Probably not worth posting to Cambridge though :-(
I had to buy one second hand recently (£15) in order to make the internet work in my house. There's a whole post that's going to go on our company blog about it but basically modern LCDs assume that the video card does the rescaling, and the bios in old computers assume the monitor does the rescaling.
The British Heart Foundation store in Dalry Road near Haymarket station takes electrical goods and tests and safety-checks them and that includes LCD monitors. I don't think they take CRT monitors but they certainly have LCD monitors for sale.
My second monitor was a little too big and overhung the end of the desk slightly. The inevitable happened eventually and I've thought of getting a replacement. If you were local I'd snap it up, but the thought of putting it through the trip from Scotland to London sounds likely to be expensive and not good for it.

The kind of place that has a datacenter probably doesn't take donations.
And yeah, probably not worth posting to Cambridge. Shame, really!

If nobody I know wants it, and nobody recommends a charity, then Freecycle it is!
