Packing is fun!

On a flight to Devon tomorrow afternoon. I've already packed six day's worth of clothes, plus various bits and pieces for the trip. As usual (nearly) all presents were bought from Amazon and sent directly to my parent's house, with as many of them pre-wrapped as possible, to save on carrying them down.

I just made a list with Julie of what we needed to pack in the morning, and we went over all the medication that she needs to make sure she has. There were 14 different kinds. Of which at least three are there to counteract some of the side-effects of other drugs she's taking. I'm beginning to think I should have bought her a new body as a Christmas present...

I'm looking forward to spending a few days with my family, going to see The Hobbit, walking the dogs, eating lots of food, and watching small person open his presents. Julie's feeling a bit lost, as this is the first Christmas she hasn't spent with her parents. I've had to go over what happens at my family's Christmas to make sure she feels comfortable with it, including that we follow the Germanic tradition of opening gifts at First Star on Christmas Eve, which boggled a few people at work when I told them...

Could be worse though, the husband of a workmate had Indian takeout last Christmas*, leading his wife to declare "That's not Christmas!"

(Now counting down to octopoid_horror declaring this to be a marvellous idea. I did get an email from one of the takeout delivery sites I'm signed up to, telling me that more restaurants than ever were delivering on Christmas Day...)
