Fun and games with Three

Last Friday, realising that I wanted a mobile Wifi unit for a family holiday in the Lake District, I looked into the various options. The easiest one, for a weekend away, was to buy a Three MiFi device on a one month contract - £30 for the device, £15/month - but with the option to cancel after a month. The staff were reasonably friendly, and got me signed up ok.

And then we arrived in the Lake District, and despite the holiday brochure saying "No WiFi" it had a pretty good connection, so I left the MiFi device in its package, along with the Sim Card, intending to return it when I got back.

Only, when I got back I discovered that despite Three's online store having a 14 day return policy, the store only has an _exchange_ policy after three days. And so I am stuck with the MiFi device. So today I phoned up and cancelled the contract, and now I have a boxed, completely new MiFi device I can sell. Which should, looking at eBay prices, hopefully cover the cost of it in the first place.

Frankly, as they subsidise the sale of the devices, it would probably have been more economic, on their end, for them to take it back!

(If anyone local wants a MiFi device, it's theirs for £25 - half what they're going for on eBay, and saves me the bother...)
