True. Whenever we cook something with some kind of a sauce, I always am slightly shocked at how much cream or oil goes into it, and then I think about how most things I eat in restaurants will have that much too.
Or a ton of salt. We had Italian the other week and felt so thirsty for hours afterwards!
But you could eat more! Potatoes by the bushel! Bread by the loaf!
To be honest, this was the most incisive part of the article for me:

If I eat a meal that doesn't have a starchy component -- pasta / rice / potatoes etc -- I don't feel properly full.
