I've long since started thinking that I'm Really Missing Out on Breaking Bad and Game of Thrones, having never seen a single episode of either, nor (in the latter case) read any of the books.

You could watch the first episode of each of them. Should be enough to tell you if they're your kind of thing.

Personally, I'm enjoying Thrones more than Bad, but I'm only two episodes into Bad, so there' still plenty of time for me to fall in love with it!

I have no doubt whatsoever that GoT is My Kind of Thing, and I'm reasonably confident that BB is, too. (And Dexter, speaking of body counts. Also never seen.) However, I have half a DVR full of shows that I *have* been watching and need to catch up on -- that Riss doesn't watch, which means I have to slot them in while she's at work -- which inhibits the addition of extra shows.

Speaking of BB:

If Breaking Bad Had Been Set in the U.K.

I linked to that. Except I linked to the original author's page/post:

I've seen the first two seasons of Dexter. Very intense, but very good.

I take it Riss doesn't like violent things?

She doesn't mind violence, but has to quickly like at least some of the characters, I think. She couldn't get into Hell on Wheels or Copper, for example, because all of the characters took a good while to show their good sides (if they had one).

Also, if there's a laugh track or Live Studio Audience, that's a non-starter for her, which rules out several well-reviewed shows (including The Big Bang Theory.)

There are some very likeable characters in Game Of Thrones - and some that start out unlikeable get more likeable later. There are also some _utter_ bastards, but that's part of the fun.

Breaking Bad, on the other hand, I've not found any likeable characters in so far. But it's only been two episodes.
