I had a dream with Nazis in it

Generally, there is nothing more boring than other people's dreams. Generally a random collection of events that doesn't tie together in any meaningful way. Mostly, unless you can sum up something amusing in a single sentence, like "There was a giant duck wearing a thong.", they're of interest only to the person that had them, and even then ( Read more... )

That is a terrifying dream. I'd have woken up screaming. Or at least felt very troubled by it all day. Are you OK?

Oh, dreams don't tend to hang around for me. This was very unusual in that I could still remember any of it half an hour later.

The only ones that wake me up screaming are the ones where giant spiders are coming straight at my head. Not had one of those in a while - last time Julie woke me up because I was clearly having a nightmare.

I have vivid scary dreams far too often. It's partly ME and partly a side-effect of the anti-depressants I'm on. It's a while since I woke up screaming, but I do frequently have dreams that can leave me feeling unsettled for hours afterwards.

Rob often talks in his sleep or jumps out of bed looking for monsters. I have to talk him back into going to sleep, which he does instantly once he lies down again and he generally remembers nothing in the morning. The brain is a weird thing.

Ouch. I had a feeling we overused the word "nazi" in the chewbacca post.

That reads like a fairly typical dream for me. I do get a few one-line dreams too but there's usually at least one long dream in there somewhere. I keep a dream diary because some are just so detailed. They can take up 3-4 sides of A4 paper! I call those "adventure/action movie dreams" because while bad shit happens, it's not that scary. Nightmares are entirely different to those.

Edit: Forgot to add - I get the "knowing" thing in dreams too. Random facts, some obviously completely wrong when I'm awake. My knowledge of physics deserts me when I'm asleep. Now that's scary. However the ability to fly is fabulous. Whenever I realise I'm dreaming I suddenly remember I can fly and it's so much fun!
