I try to be pretty up beat. I had a good weekend. Washed the car, got aforementioned grill, and having been having a lot of fun playing Gears of War 2 with
ishedmywings (Yes, Mike, I bought the game...used though).
I get emotional rather easily and some one at worked who saw me reading Mao II the other day, commented, "You read lots of depressing stuff." I thought about this for a second and realized just how true it is! Just in the past few weeks, I read Norwegian Wood, The Road and Time magazine hasn't exactly been a pick upper these days. Then what have been watching? Closer, Lust Caution, The Other Boleyn Girl. And now today a new really good, but super depressing episode of House.
I thought maybe this is just recent, but now that I think about, as
vegettoex can attest to, the first three DVDs I ever bought; Dark City, The Professional and Requiem for a Dream. And I watched them all the time. When Dark City is the most uplifting of those, what does that say about my taste in movies??
I think I need to watch The Shawshank Redemption again soon.
