Had absinthe for the first time tonight...
I've been stuck in my home nearly every night barring work or family with minimal exceptions since I don't know when, so tonight I splurged and went to a local cafe for a drink. Live music, and for once neither too loud nor unpleasant. Stayed to listen to the whole set. They had real absinthe on tap there, and because I've always been curious, I splurged and tried it.
Tastes like licorice. I fail to see what the big deal is. No hallucinations as of yet...THAT I KNOW OF.
There was a very beautiful young woman sitting next to me. I considered striking up a conversation, but then the guy sitting on the OTHER side of her randomly, as he was leaving, paid for her drinks and meal. And there was no damn way I could top that for an icebreaker. Ah well...
