Once in a while, a company makes a tool that just makes life easier, and it easy to use. For all the Microsoft bashing which floats around the internet, they make a great tool, which is free. Yup, you heard me, for the reasonable price of free.
Let me introduce you to Windows Live Writer.
It’s made blogging, so much better. Not only does it do the things that you expect, spell check, for formatting, but it can interface with your blog, pretty much any blog out there. You can ass multiple blogs, and even preview and edit the html source if you need to. It will even alert Twitter, of you posts, and make a TinyURL shortcut also. That’s kick butt, and maybe take names, type of action.
I’ve been using it for years now, since the first beta, to the RC which is where it is now, it’s a great program, low overhead, and doesn’t have the bulk that Microsoft Office Word, sometimes feels. I think it’s underappreciated, it’s a great word processor also, when you have a need, it’s there. Any blogger would appreciate the ability to quickly add HTML, Hyperlinks, Pictures, Photo Albums, Tables, Bing Maps, even Tags.
It saves drafts, and you can even review old posts.
I think there have been some good clients out there, I recall a few from Xanga, Livejournal, and WordPress. This takes the cake, I love it, and recommend it.
