Sweet precious nectar...
So I invited my friend Daniel over last night for some free drinks and a chance to watch Australia flog the Dutch in football (which sadly didn't happen, but eh I am happy with a 1-1 draw), met his girlfriend Bec and the shit hit the fan when Lin found out she loves Hello Kitty and anything related to Sanrio products. Never again! NO NEVER NEIN NON!
Anyway Bec showed us this nifty little webpage, which I will have to furiously find soon, about how water relates to the vocal vibrations of words and how the word itself can affect the way the water is frozen at that period or something like that. But it was quite cool seeing the differences between simple words like "good" producing an effect similar to a rosy afternoon, and the word "bad" looking somewhat like a black hole of death. I'll have to find it sometime soon.
Yesterday was hell on wheels. They had the Italian Festival at New Farm Park, right opposite my work place. Usually takes me a decent 15-20 mins to get to work.. well it took me 10 mins to get to the suburb New Farm, it then proceeded to take me another 20 mins to get to the flaming club. Soon as I walk in, we're hit by 100+ people or thereabouts. Pretty sure we made over $4000 yesterday due to the mega influx of customers. Don't really make that on Sundays. The bonus was that there were fireworks soon as I was about to close up, so I decided to take my break and sit outside with the best seat in the joint to view some nifty fireworks. Fun and fantastical.
Found out the band Low played at the Zoo on Wednesday night. I was spewing.
