SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOoooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
This year will be huge, musical-wise and gig-wise. Radiohead, Sigur Ros, Leaves, Coldplay and various others that I am missing out on are releasing their new albums this year. Radiohead a big big big IF due to them not confirming whether they have done much at all other than putting down the finishing touches of their newest creation, Arpeggi.
Doves have already released their album which I think defines them a little more. I absolutely adored their debut Lost Souls, didn't like their 2nd - The Last Broadcast all that much but this new one, Some Cities seems to really hit the ball home again. I was supposed to have bought their ticket to see them on 7th of June but it has been cancelled due to Jimi Goodwin's throat having a major heart attack but I know they'll come back within 2 months or so. PLEASE MAKE IT SO LADS, I LOVE YOU GUYS.
Umm there's also this new guy from Sydney called Lior, his debut is great. Bought tix to see him on 2nd of June and it should be a blast, will need to email him and plead with him to play Bedouin Song for me ;) Anyone that likes Jeff Buckley should check out Lior.
Sigur Ros have/have not officially/unofficially stated that yes they will be touring Australia this year. BIG FUCKING EXCITEMENT.
And of course Coldplay will be definitely hitting our shores after their album and that will be big - kicking my arse that I've adored them before the whole big Yellow craze that shot them to stardom and have not even seen them when they were here thrice - 2 stand alones and 1 at Splendour. Hrmmm what else. Need to download their new song if I can find it.
Leaves new song sounds fucking awesome, looking very forward to their next album. The cheeky Icelandic bastards posted their UK dates and said this probably because I am constantly hounding them to hurry up and come to Australia, "Obviously, if you live in Australia, for example, we fully understand if you can't make it." Thanks for the wink guys.
There's no denying that 2005 will be a massive year for music.
THE MUSIC IS FOR THE PEOPLE
