Odd memories I

Jun 27, 2009 01:04

It's been a week since my final exams ended and now I'm free. School's last month somehow felt like an eternity and I was just dying to get out.

Tomorrow my brother is going to Canada to better his french. I think it's really awesome; I've always wanted to go there. He'll be leaving at six in the morning so we'll have to wake up at around four. I'm planning on not sleeping at all so I've got three hours to upload a whole lot of photos taken since days before final exam weeks.

One day I was walking to a friend's car and I noticed a pair of dogs taking a nap in front of the civil engineering faculty. They looked so relaxed it made me want  to go and lay on the grass with them. I also couldn't resist the urge to throw a stick at them, so I did. Curious thing, they both woke up in a synchronized manner.

This is Enoc. These were taken just after the whole pig flu outbreak started to cause panic everyone. Pretty stupid, I think. Anyways, since they were giving out free mouth covers we just joked around with them.

Just some pictures of us waiting for Material Mechanics class.

I rarely wear shorts, even at home. One day that I did, I don't know why but I looked at my leg and I discovered a huge bruise. It was quite confusing since I don't know how I got it considering its size. I didn't hurt also.

Another day, I think I discovered a new, umm, mole. I'm not sure what they're called in english. I think it's mole but moles make me think of bulky ones with hairs coming out. The ones I'm refering to are just dots on my skin, pretty much like large freckles. Anyways, I like my moles/large freckles.
Yea, I'm sort of examining myself most of the time.

I love mexican Coca Cola and long exposures.

This is Simental, whom we usually refer to as Simi. He had been wanting a labrador for quite some time and he finally got one a few months ago. Her name is Chloe and he loves her very much.
One day, Simi was looking up things about labradors on the internice and found out the Chloe was in fact a golden retriever.

A picture of me eating a gansito and a picture of my cousin not wanting to get a picture. She's on that age in which she thinks she's one of the ugliest persons alive. I'm always trying to convince her otherwise, though it seems like my words hit brick walls.

Material mechanics final project equations and laplace transfoms homework.

For lineal algebra's final project we had to do a robot designed to follow a white trail. The robot here is not my team's. It was called "the cockroach". Also, that guy in blue that looks like a student is in fact our teacher. He's quite young and after our final exam he confessed to being quite a video game junkie.

Picture of Mich eating tostos, which is a mixture of tostitos, corn, molten yellow cheese, and several spicy sauces. Quite a treat for anyone who's short on money and wants a quick hunger relief.

One day, it started raining just when I was getting of the metro at the University. People were staring to pile up as the rainfall increased. I thought it had been a while since I last got wet in the rain [we don't get much rain here =(...] and deciced to walk the usual ten minutes to my faculty in the rain.

Pictures of my faculty and its surrounding parts. The Tigre Bus drives students around the University campus for free.

One Friday, Simi, Eddie, Memo and me went planned on going to Saltillo to study for the soon to come final exams. Saltillo is a city an hour of distance from Monterrey and Memo's hometown. Now, we could've just stayed and studied and things would've been easier but Memo's brother was coming back home from Pennsylvania and there was going to be a welcome home party. Memo wanted to study and the rest of us sort of wanted an excuse for a trip and the promise of a party so we went to Saltillo, but not before eating at a Carl's Jr. a Súper Duo, which is two good-sized hamburguers for less than five U.S. dollars [49 mexican pesos].

Saltillo has a higher altitude and such a nice weather. The air feels so fresh in midday and nights are chill. When we got there, we made a quick stop at a hospital; Memo's dad was there because he had had an ulcer.

Random street pictures, Memo's house and Eddie and Simi studying. My camera's battery died after this. [sad face]

Final exams started and I suggested we study in my basement because it's easier for me and I'm the only one with an A/C. Sometimes we just got bothered with all the studying and started messing around; Simi trying on my jackets, us playing Risk, and whatever diversions we could find. Sometimes, some of them even stayed over. One day, Mich killed a spider he saw walking on the floor. I felt bad because I like spiders but he argumented that he didn't want any spiders crawling up on him while he slept so near to the floor. I still think it was unnecessary to kill the spider.

Two hours before our material mechanics exam people were still copying the problems our teacher had told us to bring as an exam permit. I tend to not worry moments before exams because, I dunno, what gives, I don't like stress; whatever may come will come, let the chips fall.

I forgot to rotate some pictures before uploading them so, yea, they stay sideways. [I'm too lazy to reupload them]

Our teacher came in a bit late but he wanted to take a picture of us before the exam. We had him last semester for another class and I think he developed a bond with our group. I do like his way of teaching; he's strict and his exams make you think but are not impossible, and he's the sort of teacher that prepares you for things that'll come later.

After our exam, we went to a place called Incredible Pizza. It's a buffet with good quality food and kid's games. I took the Risk game and we spent a few hours there playing and eating.

Random picture: Mich taking a leak.

It was two in the morning, Memo and I were done studying, Simi was doing some final project in my laptop and Memo had to wait for Simi to finish because he was the one with a car. Bored out of our asses, we went outside to take long exposures with lighters.

Back on the basement, now studying for Laplace transforms.

One day, we had to go to Memo's house to study because my mom came to visit and she was to sleep on the basement. Memo's house gets really hot and I was the first one to take my shirt of despite of Memo laughing at me because he thinks my head is too big for my body. =P
It was only a matter of time before we started fooling around. Chuy found a dry eraser marker and started drawing on his nipples. I drew autopsy cut marks on my chest and Chuy attempted to draw a stomach but failed by drawing it on the other side that it's supposed to be.

We were studying for the thermodynamics exam. [Only six people in the classroom passed and I was not one of those]

I spent the night at Memo's and the next morning, on Saturday, some of the guys came back to study more thermodynamics.

It's 3:32 a.m. right now so I think I'll go ahead and get something to eat before leaving to drop of my brother at the airport.

Random pic: Mich bought an old truck which is full of WIN and I went to take a picture of it with my Holga. I can't quite say who took this picture. We call the truck "the cow" because it makes cow noises. Very useful for freaking out people on the streets.

olives, electrical storms, drugs and candy, red arteries, pain
