Summary: Johnny knew that every man has his desires, pleasures and needs. To prevent his idols to have girlfriends and causing troubles for him by doing so, he makes a contract with a night club to offer their girls to his idols. What Johnny doesn't know is that there is a different girl who is in that club by mistake and that one of his idols finds an interest in her.
A/N: This chapter is mostly only about Ryka and Nino. It shows what has been going on since Ryka came to Nino. It also shows a few important moments so I hope you will enjoy them. A certain moment is really sad, even I almost cried so be alarmed ne... Now enjoy reading ne~

Chapter 23 ~ Family ties
[Two months earlier…]
“What is that supposed to mean?” Ryka asked as she stared blankly at the man before her not grasping his words. Her eyes were still red from all the crying, her heart was clenching and she was tired even though it was only early morning. What she really didn’t need was a confrontation with Nino’s words.
“You damn heard me, don’t pretend you didn’t.” Nino barked but at the same time nervous of her reaction. He didn’t think that telling her the truth would be this hard.
“Don’t joke with me.” Ryka barked back and stood up, obviously confused.
“I’m not joking; you are my sister on my father’s side. I can prove it to you.” Nino explained and got up to go to his room. When he came back he was holding a thin folder and handed it to her. “That’s my proof.” He added and plopped on the sofa looking uninterested. Ryka sat down again, opening the folder but didn’t look at it. She was scared because she didn’t know if Nino was really joking with her or not. At the same time it was something she couldn’t imagine as the truth. She still didn’t recover from her separation with Sho this morning and just as she told Nino what happened, he dropped a bomb like this. Her mind and heart were already unable to follow her emotions, the happenings around her and it was hard to understand that there was possibility of the man sitting beside her to be her brother. She already reached the sky once when she met Sho, fell down on the solid ground, broken and now someone appeared saying to be her family. Ryka always dreamed of having a real family, someone who she could completely trust, depend on and tell her every problem. But now that this opportunity showed up, she feels scared and didn’t know how to react to all of this since the situation was once again too unimaginable to be true. For her Nino was until now just a friend with whom she could argue with, showing her childish side. He was a friend only because he was Sho’s friend. If hadn’t met Sho she would never met him.
“Won’t you look at the file?” Nino asked, his hands nervously fidgeting.
Ryka closed the file and placed it on the table before her. “No, I can’t deal with this today… and if you are just trying to say this stuff to me, to appease me about what happened between Sho and I, then don’t. I don’t need such a joke right now.” She angrily said to him.
“This is something we need to clear right now! No, Ryka, I’m not joking! I was planning to really talk to you and Sho about this. Do you think a matter such like this would be a nice joke just to make you feel better? Maybe I’m a prankster sometime but right now I want you to know that beside Sho, you have someone else to protect you - it’s us, your real family.” Nino explained calmly as possible, looking her in her sad and confused eyes, placing his palm on her shoulder.
“I… I don’t get it! How can we… I mean…” She muttered incoherently, looking at her palms on her lap, thinking for the right words and how she can be related to him. It was still something that couldn’t get in her head no matter what.
“My father one day gathered the whole family and told us about the existence of his daughter. You know… in some point in my parent’s relationship, dad and mom had some arguments, like ordinary couples do which lead to dad leaving us. You know what I mean right?” He asked her and when he saw her faint not, he continued, “during that lost time, dad met your mom and to make the story short, they had a secret relationship without your mother knowing that our dad was already a married man. Later when she found out about this, she decided to leave him and ask him to go back to his family and to take good care of us but she never told him about you because she knew this would destroy his already build family. She knew she can’t be this selfish since she was the one who could break a family apart if she told him.” Nino took a deep breath and still continued, “It was a year after you were born that dad received a letter from your mother, informing him about you but dad kept it a secret from us just until recently that he broke down, couldn’t keep it from us anymore and told us. We were really upset about this, who wouldn’t be, right? But he also explained that when he got that letter so many years ago, he went back to the address that was written in the letter but it was too late already. Your mother passed away and you were given to foster parents that nobody knew since the orphanage is not allowed to just share the informations about foster parents. Ryka, he tried to look for you, he tried many times but slowly lost hope when all he had was only your name and a baby picture of you that were enclosed in the said letter…”
Tears streamed down her cheeks again when she slowly started to understanding the story and believed in Nino’s words but there was still a small doubt, sparkling inside her mind. “Then… how sure are you that I’m your sister?”
“When father told us about it, I can’t deny that I was really mad at him for what he did and for hiding the truth about you for so many years. For the past few weeks I have been trying to find you, I searched for you. I hired a private investigator but he failed to find you too but you know, ever since I met you I had those different feelings towards you. I couldn’t describe it at first… but I’m really glad about those feelings because without it I would have committed a sin for which I could never forgive myself… Do you know what I mean?”
“Yes, I know…” Ryka remembered the day when Nino had to take care of her and almost slept with her. “I had the same feelings around you… and I could be honest around you…” Ryka wiped her cheek again, her head slowly hurting from all the crying she had to go through today.
“But I found my answers when we went to that boating trip. The first time I heard Aiba-kun call your real name, I really wanted to thank him and hug you right then and there but I had to restrain myself until I would have the real proof and show it to all of you in case you would ask for it. The only one who knew all of this was Oh-chan… he was really a great help for me during those weeks and he also helped me to get the mentioned proof. We secretly got a few of your hair and I got some of my father and we did a DNK test. I’m sorry if we did this secretly but if I had told you about it, I know you would bombard me with a lot of questions and I don’t know how to answer them. Not to mention how upset you would be. If the test would be negative I would feel really sorry to unnecessarily stress you about it. So I decided to keep it from you until I got the results which told me that you are really my sister that I have been looking for. Since you are a nurse I know I don’t have to explain it to you any further, the results are also in that folder.” Nino showed to the folder on the table and then turned to her again. “Can you believe me now?”
“I… it’s hard to believe…”
“I know and I don’t force you to understand it all right now. You should take your time but as I said I’m here for you now. If you need me, I will help you, no matter what it is but for now please think about it. I know you have nowhere to go so please stay here, I want to spend a lot of time with you. I want to know you and understand you, be the family you lacked until now.”
“Thank you… Nino-kun… This is really hard for me to handle right now. I haven’t even thought seriously about what I did today and now suddenly understanding that I have a family… I hope you understand…”
“Yes, of course I do, don’t force yourself just give yourself a chance to understand it all bit by bit. Look I really needed to tell you since you have the right to know, now…” Nino got up slowly, looking at his watch. “I will slowly need to go to work. We have a few meetings today and shootings, if I’m lucky I can be back by nine in the evening. Until then please feel at home, use anything you want, do what you want okay?”
“I can really stay?” Ryka asked curiously.
“As long as you want and don’t even think of paying me for it! Since we are siblings you need to know how to save money.” Nino teased and smiled to her, trying to raise her spirits up.
“Everything can’t be for free so as long as I stay I will help you around the house and we will share the expenses!” Ryka announced.
“You don’t…”
“I do need to do this.”
“Suit it yourself I know I can’t achieve much arguing with you since you we are the same.” Nino smiled gently again. “Okay, I need to grab a few things and then I need to go.” He went around the house searching for the things he will need.
“Nino!” Ryka grabbed his hand as he was ready to leave and then let him go.
“Hm?”
“Please don’t tell Sho that I’m here… I will be calmer knowing that he isn’t doubting me and he would be upset if he knew.”
“I know, if you want I will not tell him anything. Don’t worry about that.”
“Thank you.”
“I’ll see you later then.” He added gave her a tight hug before taking his bag, threw it over his shoulder and left. Ryka breathed deeply, looking around the house. It’s a mess here… but it’s nice because this way I will have something to do and will not be able to think about Sho.

The next few days were different than anyone was used to. At work, Nino had to listen to Sho’s depressed talks about how he missed Ryka and asked for advice everyone of the members but always Nino had no idea what to say to him. He never wanted to be harsh with him but anything he said sounded this way.
“Sho, this is what she wanted, try to understand her!”
“Nino, don’t be so harsh on him!” Aiba whined.
I’m just trying to make sure both sides are satisfied… no one can see that, am I right? But I can’t side with Sho or with Ryka… Sho is my friend and Ryka is my sister… I just can’t be in between.
Nino now remembered the past few days that Ryka spend at his place. Everything was okay, she was herself, sounding normal, she even started studying and revising medicine and her nursing. He knew it has been a long time since she updated herself in it and he understood her dash towards being perfect. But her true side was shown as the time to sleep slowly came closer. Since the first day she had to have a nightstand lamp, surprising Nino about her fright of darkness but that was the easy thing to understand. What disturbed him more was her fidgeting in her sleep. He knew so because he often woke up at night and wanted to check up on her and saw her rolling on the bed, mumbling some vague words, her brows furrowed. He often stayed by her side, patting her back until she slowly calmed down. When that happened, he gently fixed the flocks of hair from her face, fixed the blanket gently to not wake her up and silently left the room to go back to sleep.
During the day he also saw her looking for a job and he couldn’t help himself than offer her a helping hand at that. At first she was really against it but he slowly convinced her to go to his boss Johnny to apply for the job of Arashi’s private nurse. He gave her the number and she called the mentioned boss and he told her when she can come for an interview. But when that day came, Nino insisted on coming with her since he knew how to handle Johnny.
How right he was when Johnny wanted to bombard her with all kinds of questions since he knew where Arashi members met her since he knew all about the girls that were hired for them. When it comes to his idols he turns serious and wants to make sure everything is as it should be. So before he would say something he would later regret, Nino already started explaining:
“Sir, Ryka-chan is nothing as you think she is. Sure, she came from that club but that doesn’t mean she is the same as other girls. Namely this one here was forced to enter there and had no chance to free herself. As I see you also know about her and Sho but let me tell you that they didn’t fool around, they are serious and she just left him a few days ago to become a better person for him since she is perfectly aware of her past. She doesn’t want troubles for him or you, she only wants to have a decent job so that she can start anew. She wants to get on her own feet, not depending on anyone, especially Sho or me, who is actually her brother.”
Johnny’s eyes flew to him and back to her not understanding one bit. “Siblings?”
“Hai, we have the same father.” Ryka replied bravely now already accepting the reality.
“It’s too much to explain, we shouldn’t bother you with it.” Nino intervened. “She came here to discuss the job and not her past.”
“You have a point Ninomiya.” Johnny agreed and started explaining what her job would be, what she would be allowed to do and what not. “Are you prepared to follow all that?”
“Yes.” Ryka answered determined.
“Okay, get me a day or two to think it over.” Johnny replied, stood up and gathered all the papers together, saving his and handing Ryka the ones with informations and rules. Ryka stood up too, accepted the papers and bowed low uttering:
“Thank you very much for giving me a chance. I will wait for your reply.” Nino followed her example and bowed to his boss before they slowly left the room and later the building.
Two days later the approval and some additional explanation came through post and from the next day on Ryka started her job.

When she was already a month at Nino’s place something happened to her which she could never forget. That day was a Saturday and she woke up early in the morning with a slight headache, which started to occur every now and then since she seriously started studying late to the morning, lacking sleep and rest. Nino had a free day and talked to her at breakfast.
“It seems you accepted me as your family now, am I right?”
“Yeah, Kazu I did.” Ryka smiled to his still sleepy face.
“Good then you will surely not mind if I take you somewhere. I already said we will come by one of these days and that is why they are expecting us.”
“They?” Ryka furrowed her eyebrows, expecting his reply.
“Un… My sister, my mother and our father.” Nino replied simply, looked at her suddenly rigid face and patiently waited for her answer.
“Is it okay? I mean… they know who I am, who I was…” Ryka lowered her view back on the table, playing with her chopsticks.
“They know but they don’t judge you or blame you or anything, they are an understanding people you will see.” Nino tried to calm her worries down. “Especially father will be really glad to see you, I think you shouldn’t hide from him. After all, he is your father too.”
“Un…” She mumbled and continued, “then… let’s go.”
Three hours later Nino’s car drove into the yard of his home in Katsushika. When he turned off the engine, he noticed her nervous expression, her hands nervously fidgeting and slightly trembling. His palm reached for hers and he gently uttered:
“It’s okay, I’m with you.”
“Thank you.” She silently whispered and they left the car, walking towards the entrance as they already heard some uproar from inside. They looked at each other and slightly smiled. Even before they reached the door and the doorbell, the doors flew open and a man was standing there, his features similar to Nino’s but a bit older. He had a wide smile plastered on his face when he looked at Nino but his eyes wetted as his look turned towards Ryka. She already knew her father was standing before her but seeing him this shaken from both joy and sadness, confused her. Just then he stomped towards her and pulled her into a tight bear hug.
“Ah! Chotto, I can’t breathe!” Ryka exclaimed, the grip on her loosened a bit but didn’t let her go.
“Ryka! I looked for you! Oh thank god who brought you to me!” Her father mumbled into her shoulder.
“Hey dad I brought her!” Nino teased and tried to bring his father to let her go. “Now you will kill her if you don’t let her go.”
The hug was immediately released and their father still held on her shoulders while looking at her closely. “You are all right?” Ryka nodded shyly. “You look really great, such a young and beautiful lady.” Tears started do gather in his eyes again.
“Thank you but please don’t exaggerate.” Ryka replied.
“I’m not, I’m not! You are so much like your mother you know that?”
Ryka waved her head. “I didn’t know my mother, I’m sorry.”
“Ah true hahaha well I can tell you anything you want to know, okay?” He asked again, Ryka nodding.
“Hideki, will you let them inside already or do we need to eat outside?” A woman appeared at the door, dressed in simple clothes and an apron, her brown hair tied to the head and smiled gently to Ryka even though she was scolding her husband a minute ago. “Ryka-chan, it is nice to finally meet you, Ninomiya Emi desu.” Emi bowed to the girl and Ryka did the same, telling her full name.
“I’m sorry… for disturbing…” Ryka uttered slightly embarrassed to come to this family which was almost destroyed by her parents.
“You are welcomed here so I want you to feel at home.” Emi smiled gently. “Now, let’s go inside.” She invited them once again, prepared the slippers for the two of them and rushed to the kitchen where she and her daughter were preparing the lunch. At the same time Hideki escorted the pair into the living room still observing his found daughter, never taking his eyes off her.
“Dad it’s annoying already!” Nino barked as he plopped on the sofa and Ryka beside him.
“Is he towards you like this too?”
Ryka waved her head and smiled. “Even worse.”
“What?!” Nino faked his anger but gently slapped her shoulder.
“I’m joking, he is really nice.” Ryka corrected herself, smiled and saw another girl enter the living room, bringing some drinks.
“Hi, Ninomiya Megumi desu, Kazu’s and yours older sis.” The girl greeted and Ryka returned formalities, silently glad that she was accepted as her sister. “We will have our girl’s talk later, mom needs me.” Megumi smiled.
“Can I help you with something?” Ryka offered her help.
“For now we can handle.” She replied and rushed to the kitchen since her mother was already calling her.
The three in the living room continued to chat about various stuff but for now still avoiding the talk about Ryka and her mother. Ryka felt as if it suddenly turned into a taboo topic and at the same time needed to clear some things with them or she would always feel uncomfortable. It is true they welcomed her wholeheartedly but something inside her was molesting her and she had to let it out of her. As they were called to the dinning table, she knew it has to be now or never since all were gathered.
“Um… can I say something before we start?”
“Sure.” Hideki, who sat beside her, approved.
Ryka stood up, gulped hardly, her heart racing from the nervousness. “I’m really glad you accepted me today, I really didn’t expect this… Thank you for that… but no matter what I really need to apologize to all of you.” Her head bowed really low.
“For what?” Emi asked curious.
“For causing you troubles even though I’m not related to all of you… and for my mother who almost broke apart this family. I’m really sorry about that.” Ryka still didn’t raise her head, her chest clenching tightly and slight headache starting again.
Emi slowly got up and went to Ryka, placing her palms on her shoulders. “Listen dear that was in the past. It’s true it was a hard time but Hideki left because of our arguments and not because of your mother. As I hear she also told him to come back to us and she was brave to keep you existence from him. Besides even if your mother would be to blame, we don’t blame the child, which is you. You didn’t have anything to do with what happened. No one wants you to take the blame or to feel uncomfortable; the responsible one got what he deserved.” Emi looked at her husband seriously but gently back at Ryka, slowly making her raise her head. “Ryka-chan, since you are his daughter we can’t deny you. We know how much you went through…”
“I don’t want to be pitied.” Ryka proclaimed proudly.
“You are not!” Megumi uttered. “We will gladly accept you in this family because you are one of us. It’s true mom is not your real one but I’m sure she is glad to have a second daughter.” Emi nodded to her daughters words. “Father was really excited about today. He kept saying that he will finally meet his daughter. Believe me, he never acted this way before.” Hideki flushed a little. “Then, for me. You think I can handle Kazu here? I need a girl to talk to. I have a lot of friends but nothing beats a sister. Believe me I always wanted one. And I’m also sure Kazu-nii has already shown you what it looks like to be a part of our family because you are one of us. We all waited for you, never ever thought bad of you, because Kazu told us everything about you.” She stopped now as the tears finally wet her cheek.
“Megimi-chan is right, we only want to be there for you, to give you what you lacked in your life. So please try to understand us too as we understand you.” Emi added while gently caressing Ryka’s shoulders who cried endlessly while listening to the heartwarming words.
“You are my daughter Ryka-chan…” Hideki added trough tears.
“O… otousan…” Ryka muttered through her chocked throat and felt really good saying that word which was so simple yet very meaningful to her since it was the first time she could someone really call like that. She chocked again as she tried to continue, “thank you so much…” She turned to Megumi, “Megumi-chan, please show me how it’s like to have a sister…” Then she turned to Nino, “Thank you too for bringing me here, I will never regret it.” Lastly she looked at Emi beside her who gently brushed Ryka’s tears away. “Obachan… thank…”
“No, no, no.” Emi interrupted her. “From now on, please call me Okaasan. I know your mother will be happy too, wherever she is.”
Ryka suddenly fell into Emi’s embrace, crying her heart out as she silently whispered:
“Thank you… Okaasan…”
“Silly child.” Emi uttered as some tears escaped her eyes too while she stroked Ryka’s back until she calmed down a little. “Now let’s eat the dinner or those hungry wolfs will eat us up.” She added while watching the other three at the table who wiped their tears and waited to start with the lunch. Ryka smiled faintly but silently hoped to eat at least a little of the great feast that was on the table after knowing her strange eating habits in the past few days. I hope I can eat at least a little… the smell is good so please my stomach cooperate with me at least this time… Ryka thought as she slowly let go of Emi, they joined the others and all could finally start eating.
After the lunch they all sat in the living room again, trying to bond with their new family member. They all tried to find more about her and they made sure to let her know them too. At the same time they tried to make her feel as a family. Their joy was cut as Nino’s phone rang.
“Eh? It’s Saturday!” The gamer exclaimed, obviously discontent with the one who called. “Yeah I know I will be there in half an hour I think.” He flipped his phone and turned to others. “I have an urgent meeting because of the new album and new changes are for the concert so I really need to leave. Ryka if you want you can stay, I don’t mind.”
“If you go to work then I need to come too.” Ryka remembered him about her job.
“Okay then I’m sorry we need to leave.” Nino told the others.
“Ryka-chan I will come around a bit soon or I will call you. We will spend a lot of time together, okay?” Megumi hugged her gently.
“Sure.” Ryka smiled gently and was already pulled in Emi’s embrace.
“Take care of yourself and rest enough, don’t work too much, I can see that.”
“Un… I will.” Ryka replied and was once again swallowed in Hideki’s embrace, his palms brushing her soft hair.
“Ryka-chan, I’m really happy that I finally got to know you. Please don’t hesitate to come here if you need someone to talk to or if you need anything. Feel free to come here. This is your home too and you are welcomed to come here anytime with or without Kazunari.” He let her go but kept holding her shoulders, “I hope that you will give us a chance to be a family to you. I love you my daughter, I want you to know that.”
“I love you too Otousan and I will come soon again.”
“I will wait or just visit you at Kazunari’s place. Now go, he shouldn’t be late.”
“Hai, thank you for having us.” Ryka slightly bowed when she rushed after Nino who was already changing his shoes.
“Kazu!” Emi called him and continued as he turned to her, “come more often. I hope you have forgiven your father.”
“Since everything turned great I did and no worries I will come as soon as my schedule allows me.”
“Thank you son.” Hideki smiled faintly.
“Sure. Until later ne~, we are leaving now.” Nino greeted as all others did too, Hideki’s eyes full of tears again as he watched how his daughter left with his son, hoping she would soon come again.

[Present…]
“This is all you need to know now, so Sakurai-san stop molesting my sister. What you can do with this kind of attitude is getting far away from your son even more than you already are. He will dislike you even more or maybe hate you and I don’t want to think about that. By the way you are acting against his will and his decision on what he wants to do with his life… maybe that hate thing is really possible to happen. And remember family ties can also be broken so don’t try going there because when you do, you will not be able to repair what you have done. People can forgive but they can never forget!” Nino explained to Shun who was still panting from the anger while the other present people were observing Nino with admiration. The gamer felt the tight grip on his hand and noticed the pale Ryka’s face and remembered she might still not feel well enough. He turned back to Shun, not letting him talk yet, “Try hurting her again, Sakurai-san and I might forget that you are my best friend’s father and I might lose my respect towards you.” Even if Shun wanted to say something he knew it wasn’t his time anymore. He only observed how the gamer placed an arm around Ryka’s shoulders. “Ryka, let’s go, you need to rest.” He added and slowly pushed her out of the room, not looking at others since he knew there will be tomorrow to explain some more. But Ryka turned back a little and looked at Sho with sad eyes, who looked back at her the same way. She raised her hand just a little to slightly wave at him while she let herself being taken away by her brother.
