Polina (and me)

Dec 20, 2008 15:58

Polina has been doing great.
She was given the task to translate
an algorithm from MATLAB to C++,
instead she found a lot of problems
(both in the code and in the algorithm itself)
and proposed solutions to some of them.
The professor (the lab leader) was happy with
her efforts and promised to increase her
salary after the Christmas break.

She's been working very hard lately,
and now we are going to Canada
for a short trip - to have some rest and visit
our friends. Provided that the
flight is not canceled because of the snow storms...

Indeed, yesterday for the first time it snowed a lot
in our town, and by the evening everything was
covered by a thick snow. It is very beautiful.
Maybe in a couple of months we'll be sick of snow,
but now we are very glad to eventually have it around.
