as in the icecream variety. Featuring, for the very first time, adolescent!Ryn and Nanny. Jetzt, the drabble:
She was making iced cream. It was summer, and she didn’t make the treat often, but Nanny had bought fresh milk at Market and Papa would be coming home soon. Papa, who had been away on duty for so long and broken his leg in the fighting. It would be okay. And he was coming home.
„Let me have some of that iced cream.“ Nanny scooped some into a glass, though it wasn’t quite solid yet. She poured bubbly water over it, adding vanilla beans and a stick of sugarcane. „Try this.“
She took the treat, tasted it, and smiled.
