Omg. I'm starting to do my first assignment for my first class (ok, my second class, but theyre on the same day and I was more excited about this one) now, and I have to pause in disbelief of what I'm reading like every two minutes. While I've found readings interesting for some of my classes, I've never been so like.... excited about what I'm reading. Right now, I'm reading a report from the Carnegie Council on Adolescent Development, that talks about how the strength of our nation is in jeopardy because we're not adequately providing resources for young children, from the womb to three years old - that "in contrast to all the leading industrialized nations, the United States fails to give parents time to be with their newborns, fails to ensure pre- and postnatal health care for mothers and infants, and fails to provide adequate child care." And it goes into all of these problems in great detail, and it's even more interesting to me now because I've lived/am living through a lot of them, and wow. I never knew I could enjoy a reading for law school so much. Maybe 2L year will turn out well after all!!!! The next reading is about social prob;ems with adolescents. *Happy sigh*, I love life right now.
