nazi operas and warrior princesses

i had to listen to german opera for an hour today in my history and develpoment of music class... we saw one of wagner's operas. wagner was by the way hitler's favorite composer, kind of odd. and wagner's opera "The Ring of the Nibleung" is the longest mofo in the world, it takes 20 hours to perform... it has 4 operas in it: The Rheingold, Die Walkure, Siegfried, and Die Gotterdammerung. we watched Die Walkure which is the Valkyrie, and my professor explained a little of the plot and asked if anyone was familiar with it and i said "yes there was a spoof of this opera on an episode of Xena". sometimes i dont hide how actually dorky i am, and i accidentaly let it all out. But also the Lord od the Rings is a little but of stolen plot from this opera as well. The Ride of the Valkyrie is also featured on a Listerine commercial... haha

Alix: i dont like assigned reading even from a friend, but last night i WATCHED the five people you meet in heaven on tv, and i liked it, i bet the book was just as good, haha so now we can discuss it.
