dreams of New York

Generally I try to be a person who's relatively grounded in reality, but unfortunately (and perhaps fortunately as well) I've been gifted/cursed with the dreamer gene. Yes, it's true, there are far too many moments where I've caught myself being swept away by fantastical daydreams about "if life were different..." usually while I am supposed to be doing something else like working on that new men's shirt pattern.

Lately, my dreams have been drifting towards those of the life of the beautiful in NYC. A place bursting with all the hustle-bustle, creativity and abundance of all things fashion-related that would make any wannabe designer drool. I've been watching Sex and the City, flipping through issues of Vogue and just plain fantasizing. It's ridiculous to become so obsessed with these fantasies, but I try to use them as fodder for my creative fire. I'm working on putting together "THE BEST MAGAZINE IN THE UNIVERSE", which is a collection of all my favorite fashion spreads from the overflowing pile of fashion magazines floating around my place. So far so good, but I'm gonna need a lot more plastic sleeves.

This all may be related to the fact that I've recently finished Hebrew classes, and am now forced to face the wonderful reality of finding english-speaking work in Tel Aviv. But still, who's to say that a little daydreaming isn't healthy? Surely I'm not the only one who suffers from this? Seriously, what's your daydream? I wanna know!
