FUCK CARROLL COLLLEGE!
There are so many reasons why that's the truest statement in the world!
In the old version of Com 499 they teach you all of this BS stuff about resumes and interviewing, none of which is useful...it was all a waste of my time. I had an interview today for a new job at Kohler in the Global Faucets-marketing division. I rocked the interview, not because of the skills I DIDN'T learn at Carroll.
Instead I rocked because of everything I learned during my internship...which I got on my own. I decided, for some strange reason, to take my portfolio, which Carroll doesn't require. The Kohler people were highly impressed with everything they saw. I got a second interview next week, although the job is so mine! So basically the internship I got myself, because the people in the Com department and the WYC didn't do anything to help me...so really, I got the job myself. Even profs who lose a senior thesis, causing students to put their lives on hold. In theory, I did all of this myself.
It makes sense, FUCK CARROLL COLLEGE! Stay home and teach yourself...or go for the parties.
