Ode to Procrastination!

Jun 05, 2006 12:53

Last night instead of doing homework like I told myself I was going to do I wrote poems. So what I have left is -->
1. Find a poem out of Vox Angelica,
2. Find a theoretical text,
3. Write my essay no more than 5 pages (double spaced),
4. Read for Sociology (100 or so pages),
5. Study for Sociology
Plus the essay isn't due till 3:30, and my final's at 10:30 -which should only take an hour- so I can go over it then as well.

But alas here are the poems I was talking about!
(they're still in rough draft form, I wrote them at 2am so forgive me)

Poem 1

My sadness overflowed into scorn
I pushed away, hoping you'd grab onto me
bringing me back to safe harbors
I waited, I longed, but nothing came.
I was left, I didn't understand why
did you forget about me?
was I replaced among steel lilies and roses
betrayed, unloved
securing my inner most fears
I had others, never the same
no one understood, hopeless
I float
Waited, no one came
hardened like a rock in dry lands
I couldn't wait, no longer
my losses were great
taken for granted
better to have loved and lost.

Poem 2

Where are you scarlet knight?
caught in the rain, no cover
shadow's fall, leaves stick
Where are you friend of foes?
cover the garden, no excuses
helpless boxes, tracks in the snow
Where are you late night caller?
I search the field, no commotion
crows caw, midnight mountains
Where are you giver of life?
wash down anew, no colors
train bellows, hollow ground
technicolor bleeds to black and white
midnight rises from the east
rain falls washes stained snow
today turns into tomorrow.

If they don't make sense to you then they don't make sense to you. They weren't really meant to make sense to anyone but myself.
