If Jonathon and Christopher Nolan don't get a 'best original screenplay' nomination for The Dark Knight, I'm going to be very, very annoyed. Not that the Academy will care but still...
We got there about forty minutes early and were still sitting on the side. Which in our small city is unheard of. So yeah, I hear you about the crowds...
I'm figuring on waiting a couple of weeks for the crowds to thin out myself, and resigning myself to being pelted by spoilers from all quarters as well in the meantime. Doesn't seem to affect my enjoyment where good movies are concerned, after all.
Wow!!! For premieres in my area (and pretty much our whole county), you have to get there a MINIMUM of like two hours beforehand, and buying tickets in advance? GREAT idea let me tell you...
Yeah. We were on the side and just a bit too close for IMAX comfort.
On the plus side, the picture taken of my less-than-well-groomed self did not end up in the newspaper named on the guy's tag. Should have foreseen that as a hazard of wearing my Chicago crew shirt. (Less impressive than it sounds; the craft services guys had enough left to sell 'em to extras on the last day. The more in-jokey ones with the Joker card on the front and the amusement park graphic from the side of the truck are niftier, but less recognizable.)
I want to see this, but I don't want the crowds. THe crowds are... discouraging...
