Got back from another weekend at home, this time with Rob, Michelle, and our friend Angela, who stayed at Michelle's house for the weekend.
Friday, I went to see my grandparents as soon as I got home. They each got a hip replaced a souple months ago, and a couple weeks after they got home, my grandma fell and cracked her pelvis, so she was in a lot of pain. I got to their house and my grandma was trying to make her bed but she hurt too bad. Becky and I stayed there for a little while and moved a bed downstairs for my grandpa to sleep in down there with my grandma. My mom had been sleeping at their house for the previous week or so to look after her mom. Hopefully she'll be 100% in no time. My grandpa, on the other hand, is progressing amazingly well. He's up and walkin' around and stuff. After visiting them, I met up with Rob and Michelle and Angela as they were shoppin' at the mall. We met up with Adam, which was an awesome surprise. He looks different now. No beard. Just sideburns and a lip ring. I kinda miss the beard.... It was Adam's thing. We were gonna go bowlin' after the mall but that didn't work out, so we went home early.
Saturday I woke up pretty late, and we were gonna try and visit camp, but we couldn't find the time. Angela and I ended up drivin' around lookin' for a coat for me, 'cause I accidently locked mine up in the union radio room last year, and haven't been able to get into the room since. I'm assuming it's gone forever. Anyway, I didn't get any coats with Angela, couldn't find one that fit... we met up with Rob and Michelle as they were halloween shopping, and after a little bit, I left the three of them to go home for dinner. I ate dinner blah blah blah... After dinner my Mom and I went to the mall to shop for a new jacket. We found 2, and bought them both... after the jacket adventure, I went over to Michelle's house as Rob and Michelle were getting ready, 'cause we were gonna go visit Mark's halloween party... Me and Angela were party-poopers and didn't dress up really, but I told Angela to wear her glasses for a change, and she ended up looking like a librarian, so in a way, I was the only one doing the party-pooping. We went to Mark's house and arrived just in time to help Mark with his costume. He was Michael the Archangel. This involved GIANT wings that Mark had constructed out of PVC pipe and cardboard and aluminum foil. Rob and I were to help Mark put these wings on. This, however, did not go according to Mark's plans. Mark made the wings, along with a contraption to attach them to his back, but had never tested the harness with the wings. Things started going downhill as soon and Rob and I started to put on the first wing. Cardboard ripped, PVC snapped, and the wind blew. The wind blew the wings apart, but as they were still intact and quasi-connected to Mark, the 4 of us walked with Mark to his backyard to make his grand entrance. It was a great idea for the constume, but the wind and rain just wasn't a good mis for the costime. Mark ended up just having single pieces of pipe sticking out of his shoulder harness thingy, and he called himself a "fallen angel"... it was pretty humorous watching him try to walk around under a tree with two 5' poles sticking in the air behind him. Oh yeah. He also had a flaming michetti, which worked pretty well, despite the wind. Humor was shared by all involved. It was good to see Mark and Seth. Then we went home.
Sunday morning I woke up early, went to get Angela at Michelle's house, and met up with Rob and Michelle at Beaver Lake for a 5k which Rob and Annie (They had gone earlier to register for the race). Annie and Rob ran well. It must have been hard for them to run on the wet leaves and boardwalk and stuff. After the race, we went to get some bagels, and headed home for some relaxation, and I visited my dad before heading back up to Potsdam.
Theeeere's the weekend.
