But um, headphones aren't really for keeping sound out. They're for keeping it in. They will muffle outside sounds though, so if you just want a dimming effect, then they'll work. But earplugs are what you want for complete silence, or mostly anyway.
Well uh....yeah it's similar. It's easier to show than tell I guess. I have one, a player and a CD that....well it plays music like I said.
Instead of letting a lot of people hear it, though, it keeps it to one person, sort of a way to be considerate but also listen to whatever you want to at the same time.
